Community Calendar

Free Kickboxing lessons will be given each Thursday at the Menifee County Wellness

Center at 4pm. Call 768-8011 for more information.

Free Yoga Classes are offered every Tuesday and Thursday at 11am and Mondays

at 4pm at the Menifee County Wellness Center.

The Menifee Wellness Center is open and free for public use with your completed

paperwork. Hours are Monday from 8a-4p. Tuesday from 10a-4p. Wednesday from

8a-4p and 5p – 7p. Thursday 9a-3p and 5p-7p. Friday from 8a-4p and 5p-7p.

The Wellness Center is also open on Monday nights from 7p-9p for individuals that

would like to develop a personal program of weight loss, muscle building or general

toning.

September 1st –

 

The Annual Back-To-School Prayer Walk will be held at 3:25 on

Thursday, September 1st. MCE and MCHS will meet at the flagpole in front of MCE.

 

Botts Elementary will meet in front of the school. Everyone is welcome!

 

September 1st –

 

The Frenchburg City Council will hold its monthly meeting on

Thursday, September 1st at 6:30pm at the Clark Energy meeting room.

 

September 2-

 

The Christian Social Service Center, Inc., is sponsoring a Zumba

Fundraiser, Friday, September 2, 2011, from 7 p. m. to 9 p. m., at Menifee County

 

High School. The registration fee is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 16.

 

Bottled water and bananas will be provided for refreshments, and there will be door

 

prizes. All proceeds go to support the Christian Social Service Center and their

September 4-

 

The 71st Fryman Reunion will be held on Sept. 4 at the Old Homestead

on Hudnall Lane on Sugar Creek Road. The meal will be a potluck at around 12:30

 

p.m. All relatives and friends are invited to attend- bring lounge chairs please.

 

September 8-

 

The Gateway Community Action Board of Directors bi-monthly

meeting will take place on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the Lions Club Horse

 

Park in Owingsville at 6:30 p. m. Dinner will be served. If you need transportation to

 

the meeting please contact Cindy Hurt at 768-2369.

 

September 9th-

 

The Menifee County Cooperative Extension Service will host the

annual Community Appreciation Dinner on Friday, September 9th at the Farmers’

 

Market Pavilion on Back Street in Frenchburg. Registration will begin at 5:00 p.m.

 

and the soup bean supper will be served at 6:00 p.m. There will be live entertainment,

 

door prizes, and fun for the entire family!

 

September 10-

 

Moorefield School reunion, entire school. September 10 at 5573

289-2948 Eating utensils, plates, cups and drinks will be furnished, please bring a

 

covered dish and a lawn chair. Potluck lunch will be served at 12 noon.

 

September 11-

 

The Little Reunion will be held September 11, 2011 beginning at

12pm at the Frenchburg Community Center located on Hwy 36 next to Smallwood

 

IGA. Relatives and friends are all invited to bring a covered dish and enjoy the day.

The Frenchburg Downtown Revitalization Committee invites all

local businesses to attend a free workshop on September 12th @ 2:00 p.m. at the

 

Frenchburg Community Center. The ‘Shining STAR” Customer Service Program will

The Menifee Community Theatre Group will be holding

auditions for their December presentation of “ A Christmas Carol”. Auditions will be

 

held at the Menifee County High School Library on September 13th and 15th from

September 13th –

 

The Menifee County Fiscal Court will hold its monthly meeting on

Tuesday, September 13th at 7:00pm at the Menifee County Courthouse.

 

September 17th-

 

The Menifee County Cooperative Extension Service will host

the annual Ag Field Day on Saturday, September 17th on Betty Gap Ridge Road

 

in Denniston. Registration and breakfast will begin at 8:00 a.m. and Beef Quality

 

Assurance Training will start at 8:30 a.m. Presentations from Dr. Steve Higgins,

 

UK Dept. of Agricultural Engineering and Biotechnology, John Graham, Soil

 

Conservationist, and Dr. J.D. Green, UK Weed Specialist, will begin at 9:00 a.m.

 

September 17-

 

The Stonequarry School Reunion will be held at the Farmers market

on Back Street in Frenchburg on Saturday, September 17th starting at noon. Meal

 

will be served at 1:00 pm. For more information, you may call Geraldine Jones at
