John Everett Gifford, 30, passed away Aug. 24, 2011 at his homeplace in the Piqua Community of Robertson County. John was a loving, gentle, kind, and compassionate person who developed a friendship with every individual he met. John enjoyed life and always had a smile on his face to encourage others around him. John was born in Lexington, KY on March 18th, 1981. He was the son of Oney Gifford Jr. and Janice Meadows Gifford of Mt. Olivet. John was a 1999 graduate of Deming High School, where he earned Valedictorian honors. He earned an Associates Degree from Maysville Community College and went on to Eastern Kentucky University to complete a Bachelor’s Degree I n Technology Education. More recently, John also earned a Master’s Degree In CTE Administration from EKU. This summer he had eagerly begun work toward National Board Certification. John was a strong staple in the Gifford family as a wonderful father, husband, son, and brother. John realized the Importance of his family And made every effort to Make each one feel special and loved each and every day. John’s relationship with his wife, Brook and son, Jake were second to none. As busy of a life as John led, he always made sure that they (and the rest of his family) were number one on his list of priorities.John was a very active member and served on the board at Piqua Christian Church. He was constantly coming up with ideas for improvements to the church and would carry them through as if it was the only job he had. John walked closely with God during his daily routine. He demonstrated this through the way he treated and inspired every person he would encounter.
Helen Barton Flora, beloved wife of the late Ray Flora, passed away August 29, 2011. She is survived by children, John (Dottie), Gary (Sylva), Kay and Jane, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Private family service will be held in Carlisle Cemetery. Memorials to Carlisle Christian Church or Hospice (Cynthiana). Price Brothers Funeral Home caring for all arrangements.
Frank J. Farace, 74, of Flemingsburg passed away Aug. 25, 2011 at St Joseph Hospital. He was born Jan. 27, 1937 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Frank and Norma Farace. He retired in 1993 after 20 years of service as a plant supervisor at Dravo Lime. He enjoyed gardening and working in the yard. Preceded in death by a sister Marguarite Cosden and a brother Cosmo Farace. Survivors include his beloved wife of 41 years Donna Hutchinson Farace; daughter, Twila (Allen) Mills of Raleigh, NC; sisters, Mary (Bud) Distol, Concetta (Joe) Manuli; and brother, Vince (Gloria) Farice, Jim (Isabella) Farac. Funeral services wereheld Aug. 28 at Boone -Nickell Funeral Home with Dr. David Barnett officiating. Burial followed in Fleming County Cemeter. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Fleming County Cancer Care Club.
