Single vehicle accident claims Wallingford man

A single-vehicle accident in eastern Fleming County Tuesday evening July 26, claimed the life of aWallingfordman.
Phillip Hilterbrand, 42, ofBig Run Road,Wallingford, was operating a 1997 Toyota Camry north on KY 1013 near the intersection of Plummer’sLanding Road, at approximately11:43 p.m., when he drove off the shoulder of the roadway. He overcorrected, crossed both lanes of traffic and his Camry overturned down the south embankment, according to Kentucky State Police investigators.
Mr. Hilterbrand was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately12:41in the early morning of July 27, by Fleming County Coroner Gary Workman.
A passenger, Dustin Hilterbrand, 21, also ofBig Run Road,Wallingford, was transported to Saint Claire Medical Center byFlemingCountyEMSpersonnel. Phillip Hilterbrand was treated for minor injuries.
Neither of the men was wearing a seatbelt, according to a press release issued following the accident by Kentucky State Police.
Members of theHillsboroand Muses Mills Fire Departments responded to the scene as did officers with the Fleming County Sheriff’s department, Fleming EMS and Kentucky State Police Troopers Eugene Robinson and Sgt. Rob Conn.
The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Robinson.
